Diane Waters (WHEATENRIDGE) is a long established breeder of quality Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Whippets, breeding dogs for showing and companionship.

Diane and Bob Waters purchased their first purebred RR in 1969. Lady was a beloved family pet, not a show dog. They acquired Roughrider's Flashdance in 1986 from Dianne Miller and John Glover. "Dancer" was the foundation of Wheatenridge Kennels showing and breeding program.

In 1992 an exceptional pair of Baccarat whippets were added to the Wheatenridge family. Terry Taft of Baccarat and Diane have co-bred many top winning whippets over the years.

The dogs have always had country acreage on which to run and play at Wheatenridge. When going to their homes at 8 weeks of age, puppies are well socialized with children, adults and other dogs. They have been exposed to a variety of experiences including visits to pet supply stores and an area nursing home.

Until recently Wheatenridge was located 20 minutes west of London, Ontario, Canada near Iona Station. In 2010 Diane made the difficult decision to retire from active breeding, sold her country acreage and moved in December to nearby Strathroy, Ontario. Diane will continue to mentor and co-breed Rhodesians and Whippets with Laurie and Rick Rusticus of Vrymeer. Together they will continue the Wheatenridge legacy until Diane's grand-daughter Danielle is of age to take on Wheatenridge as her own in a short few years.

The dogs are family members and live in the house, not in kennels,  therefore the number of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Whippets that live at Wheatenridge is limited, ensuring that each dog gets individual attention from puppyhood to the senior years.
